Build a better business with employee induction, product training and safety programs – all delivered online.
E-learning is no longer just for big companies with huge training budgets. For less money than you think Pagelogic can help your business move its training online and free up you and your employee’s time to concentrate on core business activities.
Why online learning?
If you find you are delivering the same training on a regular basis and that administration is a chore, then e-learning may be your answer. And it’s not just about dollars. Adopting online learning marks your business as forward thinking and committed to the development of its employees.
What sort of training can be delivered online?
There are some types of training that are well suited to online delivery:
- Orientation for new employees. This is a great candidate for online delivery because you can get the basics across without tying up a second employee’s time. The new hire will enjoy it too since they can learn about the business in a relaxed environment and at their own pace.
- Workplace health and safety training. This is especially important if you need to demonstrate that you are meeting your obligations under WHS legislation.
- Any compliance-based training such as code of conduct, legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Product training.
- Procedure based training.
Pagelogic has the in-house skills needed to plan and develop an e-learning solution that is right for your business. We have a strong background in instructional design and e-learning development and are not web designers who have added online learning to our services. Pagelogic’s principal consultant Scott Moffatt has been involved in developing e-learning for over ten years. He has worked across many different industries and has an excellent understanding of workplace health and safety basics.
What might my online program look like?
We will help you design a program that best meets your needs. We have found the following approaches have worked well in the past:
Online learning that uses video is very effective. We are not necessarily talking about high end video though that is always an option. Often the more informal type of video goes across well with your audience.
You can record your own videos relatively easily or we can help you with the setup. PageLogic will advise on scripting and perform basic post-production on your videos to give them a professional edge.
For certain topics a few well thought out video presentations followed by a quiz and supplemented with a text version of the video makes for effective learning. This approach is particularly good when the business owner wants to impress on employees how they are expected to behave in certain situations such as in induction training.
Whereas the simple video based solution described above is fairly passive, some types of skills and content are better delivered using a variety of techniques that give the learner opportunities to interact with the subject such as when learning technical skills. In this type of online learning you will likely see video, graphics, animations and text combined within a topic.
When the word interactive comes up many people think expensive. This can certainly be the case but interactivity can mean so many different things and operate at many levels. PageLogic has the software tools and a skill set that lets us develop interactive e-learning quickly and efficiently.
The only way to find out what sort of investment is required is to talk to us about your needs and budget so that we can put together a solution that works for your business.
